Pacific Sun Railroad

Pacific Sun Railway is a short line railroad in San Diego County, California that works on the Escondido Sub, the Miramar Branch, and in Stuart Mesa Yard. It is based from Stuart Mesa Yard. It is owned by Watco Companies.

History

Pacific Sun started on October 24, 2008 after being contracted by the BNSF. In the previous years, BNSF did all of these locals, but then stopped. It runs locals weekday nights late at night along the Esondido Branch, the Miramar Branch. The local has 4 consumers in total, which results in a total consist of: 2-3 Pacific Sun Locomotives, and 3-5 Freight Cars. Pacific Sun does own these Locomotives, and the locals that run with them. The 62 miles of track serves freight Customers on the Escondido subdivision, the Miramar industrial spur and from Stuart Mesa, Calif. to San Onofre, Calif. The PSRR is providing service to Customers transporting the following commodities; corn, soy, lumber, plastic pellets, beer, paints and items for recycling
